I don’t want the federal government to track how many and what types of guns a citizen owns. I want to make sure that guns are sold only to U.S. citizens, non-felons and not to sufficiently mentally disabled persons who may be tricked into purchasing a firearm for a third party.
I want to make it as easy as possible for law-abiding citizens of sound mind to own firearms.
My plan:
- I support amending the United States Constitution to clarify gun law and remove any ambiguity that any law-abiding citizen, over 18 years old and of sound mind, has the right to own and use a firearm (open carry) the need for a license. That no American has the duty to flee or retreat from any threat that would harm their person or property.
- I support that states should always be free to require a license for concealed carry in public spaces.
- I support that if you are not registered to vote and have no legal guardian that you may not purchase a gun in the United States. State-issued photo identification is required for all gun purchases, and I believe that gathering non-invasive biometric data should be a requirement for purchase. This is to identify if you are a citizen and if you are a felon.
- I support providing tax incentives for gun education and training and proper gun storage. I want to make sure that proper gun education, training, and storage in a court of law provide gun owners a net benefit.
